| Thanks, wookie! I'm glad you like it. Actually I'm not sure how long it took. I started making the Islets over the last year or so; when I finally decided what I was going to do with them all, it took a month & change to finish. | |

| Looking good. How big is the base? 2'x2'? | |

| Thanks, Narcissus! The base is indeed 2'X2'. On my last trip to Home Depot I found a new insulation foam thing: Foamular. It comes cut in 2' X 2' squares & is somewhat denser than the average pink foam I had been using...I picked up 16 squares of it. | |

| My Man in Australia, Joe Thomlinson, out of the kindness of his heart sent me this LOVELY Witchy Woman. While she may not gather me awards, she was a pleasure to paint & a WONDERFUL addition to The Project: Seen here near her Mushroom, Mother Josephine: SO thanks again, Joe...you are a FINE FELLOW! As always your king comments & critiques would be most welcome...mostly. | |

| Very nice. Was the witchy woman sculpted by your friend?
How did you paint your wood? I really struggle with painting wood effectively on scenery. I really like the aged look to your wood on the structure at the top of the page. | |

| Thanks, Narcissus! Ma Jo was a commercially available mini but who made her is another unanswered question. The wood effect: first I score/distress the wood strips (balsa & bass) by running a coarse hobby saw with the grain. Then I paint it with a heavy 1:3 black & bitter sweet chocolate (Americana paints) wash, once dry I dry brush it with a mix of the base coat, a little straight Bittersweet Chocolate, & Desert Sand with gradually more Desert Sand being added in the final dry brush....I hope that isn't confusing. | |

| Not confusing at all. What tone does the bittersweet chocolate paint have? Your wood has a nice greenish blue tinge to it. | |

| The Bittersweet chocolate is a fairly dark brown with a grayish undertone; when I add the black it brings out a greenish tone. The desert sand has a slight gray & yellow to it. I started play around with this mix when Americana drop their charcoal. | |

| I finally finished the second of The Faerie Folk. The Grig Girls have settled into the Wood by Heep's place much to his annoyance. SO... here they are about to launch their next prank: Your commentary would be most welcome...as always. | |

| Hey Deaf - great as always - I love the detail on the wings. Where do you get these minis from? I don't think I ever recognise them. Cheers Laney | |

| Thanks for the kind words, Guys! That's my dose of motivation for the day! @Laney: the minis are Faerie, Elves from Reaper's Warlord Range: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Elves/latest/06204#boneyard @Gatlag: thanks! I added a trap door & ladder under Dora's as the means to a quick getaway. | |

| Wow, so many vibrant colours but it is still dark and sinister. I love the curtains around the goblin head. | |

| Thanks, Narcissus. The colors seem to add to the surrealistic feel; that does make it at least a bit creepy. I'm glad you like the curtains. I wanted the windows to appear open without giving an interior view. The Goblin looking out popped into my head on a walk. His curtains are Green Stuff, while the others are plumber's epoxy. | |

| Although there are ladders, posters, et al to add toe the first Tenement, it is for the most part completed...mostly. SO here are some awful photos to give you a vague idea where the Poor Folk reside. Front: Right side: Rear: Left side: A more elevated front shot: Once I get it in place, you'll be subjected to yer more pics. Until then your kind commentaries would be welcome...kind of. | |

| Very fun. I really like the curtains in the windows. All of those walkways would be great fun to play a game on. The barrels look really nice too. This whole project is incredible. | |

| Thanks, Narcissus! I'm glad you are enjoying The Project. I'm about at the half way mark with the Shanty Town. The next board going toward the Spooky Woods will be a long abandoned Graveyard, & then another section of Spooky Woods. On the other side of The Isles, I'm planning a Smugglers Haven with enough room to moor the Goblin ships PLUS finishing off Maudeheim proper, should keep me out of trouble for awhile. | |
