| As I was plodding oh-so-slowly along with the Swamp Board, a strange Beasty emerged from my psyche...he was subsisting on a diet of dust bunnies. SO to keep the thread from disappearing all together, allow me to present the latest of my creatures, Loathsome George the Gooky Monster: George will be haunting the toxic waters off Crazy Mary's Cay: As always your kind commentaries would be appreciated...offer to desist will be considered. | |

| Haha nice! He should be creepy and all but somehow I feel pity for him, he looks a bit sad. Perhaps it's because of the lack of water. Are you going to create that with Woodlands or so? | |

| Thanks, Gatlag! George will be hanging out near the (toxic) drain pipe on Crazy Mary's Cay...it's the bottom second from the right isle on the preceding page. I've got the pink foam parts painted in the base color for the polluted swamp water(?). It will get a gloss & water effect finish after the reeds are in place; then the lower walkway will be installed. The upper walkways go in last...I may just have killed my motivation for the day. | |

| As the intro say, I've made a bit of progress on The Isles of Langerhans Board. There's still a lot to do...at least from my lazy point of view, but be that as it may, here's where we stand now: An Overview: I found this Oh-So-Cool Twig down near Pecan Creek; I'll try to get a better shot next time...it has all sorts of little holes & such. That aside it's now a dead tree connecting Oozy Suzy's Rock with Crazy Mary's Cay: The walkways & ladders between Crazy Mary's & The Stoned Hedge Isle: ...with the Many Eyed Tree of Ogling: AND the Dead Fall Bidge from Frag's Sacred Rock Bar & Grill to Stoned Hedge Isle: Now that I'm coming up to speed (for a Feeble Old Man that is) progress reports should come more frequently...or not. In the meantime your kind commentary would be most appreciated...mostly. | |

| Your work rate is astonishing Deaf. I've painted and modelled two or three figures, while you've done this superbly detailed board (and I've been on holiday!). Great work as always. I agree with Gatlag that the George looks a little sad, but that's to be expected with a lonely existence in a toxic drain I suppose. You've inspired me to do a little bit of Mordheim modelling as well (always a good thing). Cheers Laney | |

| Thanks, Laney! I'm glad you like it so far...there's still lots of walkways, reeds, & stuff to add along with the final water effect coating. I've been slowly making the isles for quite some time. Finally putting the pieces together created the illusion of a rapid build...I like how that worked out. Mordheim is COOL...I'm delighted I've given you a push in that direction. | This is astounding. It looks incredible all together. I love how you have taken a dark setting and added so many colours. It has a very creepy fairytale vibe about it. All of the details are great. It would be so cool to play on this masterpiece. | |

| Thanks, Guys! I am delighted you like it & took the time to say so. @Narcissus: I was hoping for a twisted Fairy Tale/Folk Lore feel to the place; it's good to know that comes across. @Gatlag: George seems happy in his new digs/puddle...he looking forward to someone dropping in for a bite. | |

| The first layer of gloss on the "water" has proved to be SO shiny that further layers are probably not necessary. That won't necessarily stop moi fro seeing how many layers I can do before screwing the whole thing up. Be that as it may, here is how the "water" looks through The Camera's uncooperative perspective: As always your kind comments would be appreciated...kind of. | |

| Thanks, Narcissus! For the water: I brushed on a layer of Woodland Scenics Water Effects with a swirling stroke for the texture. Then I painted on a layer of Americana Triple Thick Gloss Glaze. Caveat: if you put the glaze on too heavily it clouds up; in some cases the cloudy areas go clear with a little time drying & sometimes not. | |

| Very interesting. I hadn't thought you could put a varnish over Woodland Scenics Water Effects. I've used the Americana Triple Thick on my canals.
I like the sign. Very funny.

| Thanks, Narcissus. Glad you like it. I had a couple spots where the Woodland Scenic apparently didn't cure completely & the gloss finish went strange. | |

| As the title says, I made some small progress with The Swamp; i.e., I added a suitably rickety bridge from The Three Sisters' to Stoned Hedge Isle & Tavern; AND a scaffold leading from Crazy Mary's to Frag's Rock. That should take care of the board other than adding some posters, flyers, vegetation...mutant or otherwise, & the Residents. As I finish the Guys & Gals around Town I'll post them...you might consider this advanced warning. NOW on to the photos: A Buzzard's eye view: The Three Sisters' Bridge: The Crazy Mary's Way to Frag's: Once more your kind comments are requested...more or less. | |

| Thanks, Narcissus! I'm hoping to get at least some solo gaming out of the deal. The boards are all linked. The journey starts at Heep's Place & moves through a couple of Spooky Woods sections (1 completed so far) to the Graveyard & Goblin Shanty Town (started yesterday) & the Swamp (section 1 of 2 shown here). | |

| Top notch stuff - Mudboy nailed it with 'Creepy and Vibrant'. Ace waterways, I have never managed to get that stuff to work well for me. Any more denizens to share? Cheers Laney | |

I was going to direct you back a couple of pages, but when I checked there weren't any overall photos with the last additions to the scaffolding. SO here you go: I'll be taking some photos soon of the next board over.
