Plodding Along on The Gaming Table, Part I: Updated: 06/05/116

Going with the original Faerie/Goblin Tree idea proposed by Ping of Reaper Forum Fame, I have The Pingo Tree underway. The seemingly dead tree has more life to it the you would imagine.














There will be some Mushrooms of varying levels of awareness & other such embellishments added as the Beasty progresses. Whether it becomes a wandering scenery piece or a vignette is another question. Be that as it may, I hope you like the Pingo Tree...feel free to comment if you do...or don't.  

Do you use all these for your own games or sell them off after you get tired of them or what Def? There is so much terrain in this thread I'm just wondering.

The initial idea with all of the stuff was to game with it...some sort of skirmish game like Mordheim or Chaos in Carpathia or some such thing. Thus far I haven't done that; re, Old Cap'n John isn't up to gaming anymore & I haven't done any for quite a long time either.
I haven't sold any of, but a few pieces have been given away or traded; the Mushrooms & Witch's Wagon for MoM & floedebolle falling in the latter area. If I get up to ReaperCon some year, I might donate a couple boards as prizes...that sounds like fun...kind of.

Thanks, Lydor. I'm glad you like it. I added a few Mushrooms to the Tree since the photos were taken this morning...more pics soon...I hope.

Always nice to see it painted! The only suggestion I can think of is that maybe you can give it some green paint on the "rainy" side of the three. You know where the moss grows.

Thanks, Gatlag. That is an excellent idea.  Since I'll be adding a Goblin, Gnome, or Whatever anyway, I do some moss as well.

Thanks, Gatlag...glad you like the stuff! The Pig Rider, Wilhelm Von Shakespeare (L.A.M's name, not mine) is my favorite also...he'd probably be a Mordheim Freelancer if I were to get a game in.  

The Observatory & the Town are still just primed. I want to add a couple more buildings before I start, AND all the minis took up my time...at least that's the excuse of the day.

...well actually, he didn't go anywhere; i.e., the model was finished several years ago. He had his base remove for inclusion on the Spooky Woods Board. That didn't happen. SO he sat, looking forlorn for years awaiting a new base...it was noticed that pieces stored in proximity to him seemed to disappear. Be that as it may, I finally gave him a new base, did some touch ups, & took some less than wonderful photos of him:

Hmmm I've been pondering about it for the last 20 minutes and I can't seem to get "stump" out of my mind...

I have the same mental block. If I start thinking of Stump Man like a BatMan/SpiderMan super hero maybe I can come up with his "real" name...provided a sentient, carnivorous stump has s "real" name...maybe he was name after Dad.
