FEAR NOT; the dull look is because it's still just in it's primer state...I do a white drybrush over a black base coat. Everything will be done in glorious full color when complete.

I must do a pretty mean drybrush; there are quite a few Folks who take my prime coat as the finished deal...damn I'm good.
I've added the first of the Mutant Mushrooms, added some more moss, & have the door & trap door underway. If everything goes okay, I should have some photos of the finished piece this time next week...OH BABY!

Thanks for the interest, Gatlag! I'm adding some candles & waiting for the Green Stuff to dry on the doors as we speak...type & read to be more precise.

The leering faces on the walls and the mushrooms really caught my eye but the details away from the faces (which I'm stuck on considering a point of focus) are really amazing. The trails of smaller fungus climbing up the mushroom men's bodies like a on tree trunk. That rocks.

The best pieces, especially terrain pieces, are the ones that you find some new little detail every time you look at it. Sometimes I achieve that now.

Well I'm having issues with my Photo Bucket again, but thank God for Google.

A couple of weeks before Christmas I got off a little surprise package for drakkol. WELL it JUST got there. SO now I can inflict the photos on you all:

These are probably the most predatory of the Mushroom Guys...so far. There is an undeniable disturbing quality to them. I'm planning some in full spring that should top these in the "disturbing" factor...possibly.

@Laney: this batch got Crypt Ghoul arms...I think that's what G.W. calls their newish plastic Ghouls. I got some from an erstwhile friend/client & had some left over from a commission.

In a fit of BLOODY MINDED OBSTINACY, I went back through the whole bleeding thread & fixed all the broken links...both her AND on two other Forums. OH BABY!

The latest Group are various types of a new sub-species, named for the long clown like fringe/collar under their caps: The Clara Bella Mushrooms. First up are an experiment in capturing the Lads in mid leap:





Some Cyclops Clara Bellae; the astute observer will not that the center Fellow shows the "smoking gun" aspect: i.e, a noticeable distending of the stem & a protruding hand of his lunch:

For those younger members of the Forum or those not familiar with OLD American T.V. shows, Clara Bell was a clown on the Howdy Dowdy Show...a mind rotting childrens' show of the '50s. SO here are the Clara Bella Boys with some paint...awaiting basing.

The Guys aren't necessarily man eaters...they're equal opportunity carnivores.
