Ok here's the next board game from Cool Mini or Not! find them here: Sedition Wars: Battle for Alabaster
Quote :
Sedition Wars : Battle for Alabaster is a fast paced tactical miniatures game for two players, developed by Studio McVey and published by CoolMiniOrNot.
Survival horror at its finest, game play is fast and bloody – creating urgency and claustrophobic terror, as the Vanguard fight for their very lives against an unrelenting nightmare.
Battle for Alabaster is the first part in the Sedition Wars game experience. Future expansions will introduce exciting new factions, evocative settings and expand on the compelling storyline that guides the action. Once players have fought for control of Alabaster, they will want to continue the adventure in future episodes.

Damn It LGW! You beat me to it - this game looks amazing and the McVey sculpts are all superb. I'll be down for $100 (+$25 international p+p) as soon as I've checked my cash flow (why buy GW when you can get a game like this?).

well they have reached $50,526USD
all they need is $60k and we get 12 more Vanguard troops.
not sure what other stretch goals will happen but after watching Mike talking about the game it looks like it will eventually head to a skirmish type game. So the gamers can play the board game or free roaming game. [much like Dust Tactics. ]
I just love the Strain they look great. Also the Firebrand [Rebel workers] and another Faction called simply MERCS will be due out in the next expansion.
Alot of the general comments have it compared with Zombicide and considering they got the first goal only after 6 hours I think it will get to the high numbers that Zombicide did if not more.
It has ALOT of possibility....
LGW
NB: the time its taken me to write this thread we are now on $50,771 [2 miutes top]

I'm in for $125. The Biohazard goodies look to good to miss (I've always wanted to splash out on lots of Studio McVey models, but they've always seemed a tad pricey - 63 minis (if the next stretch goal is reached), plus a cool game is a bargain in my opinion.
$53,416 so far (I think this will take off)

Agreed - I would imagine one of the stretch goals will be extra tiles or similar (the models make up for it though).
$60K Stretch reached.
$80K Stretch - virus markers upgraded to plastic

not sure if there will be any extra tiles considering they eventually want to make it into a skirmish game.
McVey did work for GW and Privateer Press..
I think it would be great if/when it moves to a Skirmish game.

Damn...there's no way I can justify the expense (though I might have to try). Seems like Kickstarter is doing great things for gaming.

@ClausLars: Yeah I know what you mean but to miss out on a McVey game was to much for me and one I did not want to miss. So many guys are commenting or lamenting that they missed out on Zombicide game.
heres an update from Mike:
Quote :
Studio McVey 11 minutes ago Hey Guys - Awesome work hitting the 60K stretch! I'm so happy to be able to out the 80K goal up - this is something I really wanted to get in the game. We planned for it at first - then the realities of production costs hit... The infection counters will clip-on to the bottom of the bases, and are stackable, so you will just clip new ones underneath as the infection grows - then.... MUTATE! The nano tokens are going to be super-cool - we're tooling those from transparent green hard plastic. I *really* hope we hit this goal! mike
cheers LGW

Looks pretty interesting. The video has some nice shots of the minis. I am actually shocked to see the human models. They look really good. Lots of movement and life in their poses, proportions are good, detail looks good. Much nicer than other recent sci-fi humans I have seen lately.
All of these games look so interesting. I know I would really struggle to ever get 50 models painted though.

It comes down to what your style is and to what level your aiming for. I could paint 50 models in a week maybe two if I had things on. Technically it would be crap but the theme over all would look ok. My Cygnar look fine from a distance but up close they are crap.
For me I am happy with table top ready and not golden daemon standard. hell my stuff is more young blood level if not kindy [eg pre-school for you lot] but I paint quickly, so I can get them on the table and play them....
all I can say is I want me some more Figs to add to the other 100 I have to paint... LOL

I'm considering to jump on this. The zombie game didn't really excite me that much(guess I'm over the whole zombie outbreak and I already have everything I need for a zombie game).
It really look's cool and I've been looking at the strain mini's for a while now.

just don't strain yourself over thinking about it Mudboy....
with it currently on $63,341USD we should get the next stretch goal in a couple of days, and with 33 days to go the amount they get will be huge.

if You get the Biohazard level you get these as well:
40k Stretch Goal: two new female minis
60k Stretch Goal: 12 more meat shields
and when we get to 80k All Biohazard level pledger's get this: Infection Tokens that clip to the underside your bases. there will be different colours to represent the level of infection.
And this an Ojective Marker:
so much like the Zombicide KS with each stretch goal we get some thing added.
hope this tempts you even more.

The minis are cool enough to justify the price. The Game may initially look kind of bland, but, if the rules are decent, you can do your own expanding. AND as my Uncle Gus would say"if ye can nae when ye may, ye shall not when ye will."
